The wall stencil has a very interesting pattern which has a modern look to it. If you are creative, you can create your own design within the over-all pattern. I used it for a small area no larger than the actual stencil size. On this scale, you can mix as few or as many colors as you like. For entire wall, stencil overlapping projects, it's best to keep to a single color.For my project, I used acrylic paints and small brushes. This is not typical. The reason rollers are used by default is because the roller will press down over the stencil as you paint, thus keeping it in place. If you use brushes instead you'll have to press down along the corners of each area as you paint to prevent the paint from going beneath the stencil. The stencil does not come with any adhesive. You'll have to apply non-stick painters tape or similar spray glue to keep the stencil in its basic position.
